Why Choose PMU School VA?
Most recently, there has been an emergent of permanent makeup school and instructors. Numerous schools have decided to open in Virginia and the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR) has easily outlined the process for that option, when the PMU regulations were updated and increased in September 2023. Many of these schools have seen the opportunity to add licensure programs—even if they may not have qualified or properly trained instructors or the genuine passion to educate and serve others.
What sets PMUSchoolVA a part from many other PMU schools? There is no timeline on our mentorship and education for our students. We are always there to give our students the tools and guidance during class, after graduation and beyond. PMUSchoolVA truly cares about our students and their success in the PMU industry, in their careers/businesses, in their lives and in their return on investment. We consider our students our family.
PMUSchoolVA also offers free internships and shadowing opportunities with full access to the operations of our PMU Studio businesses for an unlimited amount of time. We also offer employment opportunities and assistance with job placement, if needed. Our instructors also work on real clients regularly utilizing all PMU techniques taught in our curriculums. Our commitment to constant ongoing continuing education also ensures our students are always receiving the most updated, most relevant knowledge of the beauty and PMU/tattoo industry. Currently, we are also updating our free licensure and workshop refresher classes which are available to all of our student alumni.
We challenge all potential students to extensively research all schools and instructors—research their work, their training, their licenses, their past alumni, their student feedback. The Basic/Regular Permanent Cosmetic Tattooer (PCT) Licensure requires education in Microblading (Manual Method), Machine Powder Brows, Lips, Eyeliner, and Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP). There are schools teaching these techniques who publicly do not believe in these methods, are not certified in these techniques and/or do not practice them. There are instructors who also have no experience in several of these techniques and are incorrectly educating students, only because DPOR requires it to be taught. While we do not agree or condone judging the work or skillset of others, we do believe in encouraging students to educate themselves properly of the options available to them. Please do your education the due diligence it deserves. We want all students to choose the school that is the BEST fit for them—and we truly hope that you come to the conclusion that that school is ours.
